  • Lessons could be provided at my studio in SF or at the convenience of your home.
  • Lessons could be instructed in English, Cantonese, & Mandarin.
  • Each Lesson is 30 mins, 45 mins, or 60 mins.
  • Music theory lessons are prepared for the Royal School of Music Grade 5 Examination. Each
    lesson is in 60 minutes.

I will help each student to develop his/her full potential into a functional musician in all areas of music
(sight-reading, technique, theory, transposing, improvising, performance, etc.) In addition, I hope to
help foster a love of music in all of my students, and to help create an interest or curiosity that will
encourage the student to want to learn.  I strive to make lessons interesting and fun.

Student Responsibilities
  • Establish good practice habits from the beginning will progress more rapidly and find piano
    practice and lessons more enjoyable. The amount of time required for good quality practice will
    vary depending on the student's age and playing level.
  • To have QUALITY practice, instead of quantity practice.
  • Set clear goals for EACH assignment.
  • Be prepared for lesson with all books and completed theory assignment.
  • Keep fingernails trimmed short (should not extend past the end of the finger) to ensure proper
    hand position and good technique.

Parental Involvement
Most students are initially excited to begin piano lessons, but please be aware that they will face
challenges and sometimes frustrations. As initial enthusiasm is replaced by awareness of the discipline
and commitment required to attain excellence, parent's encouragement and praise will be essential to
your child's success. In addition to this, please:

  • Set aside a scheduled practice time for your child
  • Supervise home practice sessions and making sure your child completes all assignments
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for me that will increase the effectiveness of each lesson
  • Sit in on lessons periodically.
  • Ensure that your child arrives at their lesson at the appropriate time.
